The EU-DREAM project consortium convened in Toulouse on April 10th and 11th to review recent progress, address common challenges, and plan the next steps for the project. The meeting highlighted significant advancements in Work Packages 1, 2, and 3, while other technical work packages have either yet to start or are beginning slowly.
Services, Solutions and Products (WP1)
The consortium is actively collecting and analysing information regarding device compatibility from relevant projects. They are developing surveys targeted at manufacturers and household appliance end-users to establish the overall framework for the services and solutions the project aims to develop. So far, they have identified gaps between consumer realities, and the energy transition’s desired outcomes, and ways to bridge these gaps. A preliminary version of the system architecture design has been completed and will be detailed in a deliverable due in June. Additionally, use cases for the living labs are being assessed.
Digital Twin Models and AI Tools (WP2)
WP2 discussions focused on digital twin models of energy consumers. The residential smart house model has been modified and improved. The team is developing an API to manage workflows and has designed new unified data formats for integration with the data platform. An AI-based assistant tool for consumers is under development, offering suggestions, information, and controls to optimize energy use. Progress is being made in developing Digital Twin Models and AI Tools, enhancing collaboration between the NLPI and the DT, and improving the EU-DREAM architecture based on WP requirements.
Data Sharing Infrastructure (WP3)
WP3 is focused on making sure data can be shared securely and reliably. They are using advanced technology to keep track of and verify data. The team is also working on combining existing data structures with their server and improving real-time updates using artificial intelligence to predict future trends.
Work on the Living Labs has just begun. Meanwhile, Work Packages 4, 5, and 6 are yet to start.
Moving forward, the project will prepare the Interim Report.
