The EU-DREAM project is actively participating in the four permanent working groups (WG) of the BRIDGE initiative: Data Management, Business Models, Regulation, and Customer Engagement. This participation underscores the project’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the energy sector.

The BRIDGE initiative, supported by the European Commission, brings together projects from Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe to address the challenges and opportunities in smart energy systems. By engaging in these working groups, EU-DREAM aims to contribute to the development of comprehensive reports and recommendations that will shape the future of the energy sector.

EU DREAM’s contributions to BRIDGE:

  • Data Management: Participation in the Data Management working group aligns with the project objective of building a cloud-based platform for sharing energy-related data. By participating in this WG, EU-DREAM aims to standardize data practices, enhance data security, and promote efficient data exchange across different energy systems.
  • Business Models: In the Business Models WG, EU-DREAM collaborates with other projects to explore innovative business strategies that can support the deployment of smart energy solutions. This aligns with the project goal of creating innovative business models and recommendations for current processes in energy procurement, including flexibility prequalification, procurement, activation, and settlement.
  • Regulation: The Regulation WG focuses on identifying and addressing regulatory barriers that could hinder the implementation of smart energy systems. By participating in this group, EU-DREAM helps to ensure that new regulations are conducive to innovation while protecting consumer interests and maintaining system security. The project’s contribution will leverage from the outcome of defining key consumer characteristics to consider when designing these tools and provide recommendations for energy procurement processes.
  • Customer Engagement: Engagement with the Customer Engagement WG enables EU-DREAM to better understand and address the needs and concerns of energy consumers. This is vital for promoting the acceptance and adoption of new energy technologies and ensuring that they deliver tangible benefits to end-users.

The involvement of EU-DREAM in the BRIDGE WGs involves different partners and is a significant step towards achieving our goals of enhancing energy efficiency, resilience, and sustainability. By collaborating with other leading projects and stakeholders, we are contributing to the development of a more integrated and innovative energy sector in Europe.
